A home in Underhill, Vermont had a basement wall that was beginning to fail due to the pressure of the soil outside the wall.  In need of a fast and permanent solution they contacted Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems.  Northern Basement Systems did a one day install of 6 Geo-Lock Wall Anchors.  The Geo-Lock Wall Anchors will stabilize the wall and potentially straighten the walls over time.

Homeowners in Jericho, Vermont needed to replace thier old sump pump.  The old pump was incapable of handling the amount of water entering the basement.  This led to uncontroable moisture in the air and some pretty dank smells in the basement.  After a FREE ESTIMATE from Matt Clark's Northern Basement Sytems, they hired them to install a TripleSafe Sump Pump and a State-Of-The-Art SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier.  The TripleSafe will keep up with the water(capable of pumping 3,900 gallons per hour) and the SaniDry will keep the basement at a perfect 55% humidity, elliminating the bad odors in the basement.

Commercial Concrete Lifting & Repair

If you have sunken concrete around your Jericho business, we can fix it. We drill small holes in the concrete and pump PolyLevel beneath the concrete slab. PolyLevel is an expanding polyurethane foam which expands lifting the concrete back to a level position.

We fix:
  • Sinking Driveways
  • Unlevel Patios & Sidewalks
  • Sunken Garages
Why PolyLevel:
  • Lighter than Slurry
  • Doesn't Erode
  • Cures Faster

PolyLevel has numerous benefits over traditional Mud Jacking and Slab Jacking techniques that rely on a concrete mud slurry. PolyLevel is much lighter than the slurry and does not impose additional weight on settling foundations. It also does not erode, is impressively strong and uses smaller injection holes than mud slurry.

Job Stories From Jericho, VT
Supporting The Basement & The Crawlspace

Peter was experiencing some issues with his foundations. His house was rather old and needed more support in his basement. He knew that the job needed to be done by professionals. He did some research and found Matt Clark’s Northern Basement Systems. He reached out for a free estimate and decided they were the right experts for the job.

Matt Clark and his team of experts know how serious it is to support a foundation properly. Upon looking at Peter’s situation, they knew which equipment was necessary. They poured a cast-in-place concrete footing that was approximately set a foot about the ground to fit Peter’s 8-1/2” ceiling. They installed three Power Braces in the basement. Four SmartJacks in the adjacent crawlspace were installed on the raised cast footing. With these installations in place, the support for the ground floor level of the house was significantly improved.

Peter made the right choice by calling Matt Clark. A home is a big investment, and any homeowner can be proactive about protecting that investment. Matt Clark and his team of experts have the right tools for the job. Give him a call today for your free estimate!

Keeping the Community Center Safe & Dry

The basement in the Jericho Community Center had started to take on water. The Center knew that this could become a safety hazard so they reached out to Matt Clark’s Northern Basement Systems for help. When Matt and his team of experts arrived on the site, they knew just what to do.

The experts installed a TripleSafe pump system with a discharge line, their Waterguard system, an Iceguard and their Cleanspace Liner. The Waterguard system collects the water from the base of the basement walls and pushes it to the TripleSafe pump system. TripleSafe, which is a combination of three pumps, one pump is a primary pump, accompanied by two backup-battery powered pumps, then pumps the water through a discharge line. The water is safely disposed of at a safe distance to the outdoor surface. The discharge line is an open airway to the outdoors, therefore an Iceguard system was installed to keep it from freezing during the winter.

The Community Center won’t have to worry about having a wet basement anymore. Matt Clark and his team of experts are dedicated to helping the Jericho community stay safe and dry. Find out what Mark Clark can do for you.

Stopping A Bowing Basement Wall From Caving In

Liz was facing a problem: one of her basement walls had begun to bow. This is more of a common problem than most people think. It is a result of shifting and expanding soil from the other side of the basement wall. As the soil expands, it puts pressure on the wall. Too much pressure on the wall and it could slide in all together, putting the entire foundation at risk.

Knowing how dangerous the situation could become, she knew it was time to reach out to professionals. After doing some research she found Matt Clark’s Northern Basement Systems. When Matt and his team of experts arrived at Liz’s home, they inspected the situation and knew just what to do. They installed eight Power Braces. These Power Braces, set to the height of the basement wall, were placed against the wall and were anchored into the floor. These zinc-plated steel rods will combat and contain the pressure of the exterior soil, keeping the wall intact and secure.

Liz was smart about being proactive about this problem. Never again will she have to worry about her basement walls caving in. If you’ve got a bowing wall, don’t wait until it’s too late, give Matt Clark a call and he’ll be happy to help your basement needs.

I am part of a newly established Homeowners Association in Stowe, VT and we are looking for professional opinions on the state of the building's basement, which was half flooded this spring. Looking for solutions to keep it dry. Thanks!
Project Location: Jericho, VT
The original foundation is cinder block. No obvious bowing or wet areas. There is a large crawl space under addition that has poured concrete walls and a gravel floor. The original area of the basement is planned for a play area but is very musty humid in the warmer weather. Dehumidifier helps but is difficult to keep up with manual emptying the container. Can you assess and address the humidity with something that would not require manual emptying of the dehumidifier?
Project Location: Jericho, VT
Getting a sepage on our basement floor with white mold and odor. Haven't have much issue with water in the past. Noticed in the unfinished part of basement. It appears to be just wet spots on floor, not really sitting water, but more related to high water table and water getting forced through a porous floor.
Project Location: Jericho, VT
Would like an egress installed as we plan on putting a bedroom in the basement. Thanks
Project Location: Jericho, VT
We have a room behind our garage with a center crawl space and no insulation in the floor, that connects to the house. I was going to insulate the floor with mineral wool, but I see moisture damage to the joists. I would like someone to advise on it, and estimate a complete repair ASAP.

Project Location: Jericho, VT
We live in an old house, about 190 years. We have a few issues in our basement we'd like to have someone take a look at, including water leaking & one of the foundation walls bowing in slightly. Please let us know if you'd be able to come take a look at it!
Project Location: Jericho, VT
Every time it rains we get water in the basement. We have lived here 40 years and it is gradually getting worse. We feel some of it has to do with the land behind the house that has gradually slanted more to the basement through the years. We have new gutters but it seems that one dumps by where the water comes in. We want to make sure there are no cracks in the basement wall.
Project Location: Jericho, VT
Basement sees water in the spring and some heavy rains. Foundation is cylinder block vs. poured concrete and is on more clay soil. Looking to mitigate--but unsure which route to take. Thank you.
