Insulation Photo Album: New Homeowner with Wet Basement in Norwich, Vermont

The new homeowner was concerned about the basement in his new home. The basement was wet in serval areas, with exposed ledge, and lacked in insulation. Our team provided the homeowner with a FREE ESTIMATE and proposal to solve his concerns. After the project was approved, our installation team visited the home to install several solutions to keep the space dry and warm. To prevent water from entering the basement, we installed CleanSpace Wall and Floor Systems, in addition to a TripleSafe Sump Pump System. With these systems in place, the water will be trapped out of the basement and channeled to the pump system which will then remove the water. To improve the efficiency and warmth of the basement and home, our team used closed-cell polyurethane spray foam in the basement in several areas to seal out humidity and cold air. This foam was then sprayed with a fire retardant paint to meet fire code. Feed Line

This trench is used to direct the water to the pump system, and furthermore reduce puddling under the vapor barrier.

Ledge Removal & Regrading

Our installation team was able to jackhammer out a large portion of the exposed ledge and regrade the area to make the space more usable.

Drainage Matting

Drainage matting is installed under the vapor barrier to channel the water to the sump pump.

Spray Foam Insulation

Our team installed closed-cell polyurethane spray foam. Following spraying, this insulation was spray-painted with fire retardant paint to meet fire code.

After: CleanSpace Vapor Barrier System

Basement has been encapsulated with our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier to prevent any moisture from entering the basement. This product also provides a brighter and cleaner look to below-ground spaces!

After: TripleSafe Sump Pump System

The TripleSafe Sump Pump is our most reliable pump system with a primary pump, secondary pump, and an UltraSump Battery Back-up pump to protect the space against power outages, pump failure, or a tripped circuit. Additionally, this pump has a WaterWatch alarm that will sound if the water ever reached a point at which the pumps should have kicked on.
