Bowing Block Foundation Walls Corrected in Hancock, New Hampshire

Challenge

A Hancock, New Hampshire homeowner contacted Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems in search for a solution for their 1950's block wall foundation. This recently purchased home had severe bowing on the two longest walls raising serious concerns for the new homeowners. They contacted the right people to provide them the best solution for their basement!

Solution

Our team installed a total of 16 PowerBrace supports, this system will stabilize the block foundation walls, preventing further bowing and potentially straighten the wall. Each PowerBrace consists of a steel I-beam and are secured to the joists above the wall with steel brackets. This system is easily adjusted, making it possible to tighten the brace to raise the wall back to its original position. This system did include exterior excavation to increase the potential for the wall to straighten, but a very minimal amount of disruption to the basement space.
