Wet Basement in Proctorsville, Vermont
Challenge
A condo in Proctorsville, Vermont was damaged in tropical storm Irene and the damage continued to worsen as time went on. The basement was wet all the time due to cracks in the fieldstone foundation. Additionally, the basement was cold and poorly insulated, making it very inefficient to heat. The association contacted Northern Basement Systems in search of a reliable solution to protect the condo from further damage and flooding.
Solution
Our team proposed and installed a CleanSpace vapor barrier system with CleanSpace Drainage Matting to give the water a channel underneath your crawl space liner to be directed to the sump pump and CleanSpace Liner to lock out the water. To remove the water and prevent the water from pooling under the matting and liner, this system was complete with our most reliable pump, the TripleSafe Sump Pump. This pump system is composed of three levels of protection, a primary pump, a secondary pump, and a battery back-up pump to protect the basement from heavy water flow, tripped breaker, power outage, or pump failure. The team also installed a SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier to reduce moisture in the air and improve air quality. Lastly, our crew spray foamed the top half of the basement walls with 3" thick of closed-cell polyurethane spray foam and finished with a coat of paint over the foam to meet fire code recommendations.
With this system in place, the condominium is now dry year-round, efficient, and clean! Call 855-DRY-TIME today to schedule your FREE ESTIMATE!
