New Homeowner with Wet Drive-in Basement in Gilford, NH
Challenge
Long-time basement systems customers purchased a new home in Gilford, New Hampshire. The seller disclosed that the basement got some water seasonally, so the homeowners called Northern Basements right away to book a FREE estimate to see how we could help them keep their new basement dry.
Solution
Our team proposed and installed a basement waterproofing system to keep this basement dry, even through the wettest months of the year!
This basement was partly finished so our team had to remove the sheetrock to gain access to the foundation and stop the water from entering. This sheetrock was also wet from past floods, which raises concern for the growth of mold. The best and healthiest solution to this is to simply remove the lower portion of the sheetrock walls.
Once our team was able to access the foundation, they installed a full perimeter WaterGuard Drainage System. This product is placed along the perimeter of the basement under the slab, to collect the water outside the foundation to prevent it from coming into the basement. Along the garage door, we installed a TrenchDrain to collect water in the doorway as cars enter this grate is also designed to withstand the weight of a vehicle to ensure the foundation is not compromised.
Lastly, this drainage system is paired with a SuperSump Premier Pump System to remove the water as it is collected by the drainage to keep the basement free of water year-round!
