Foundation Crack Caused by Earthquake in Milton, Vermont
Challenge
A couple in Milton, Vermont built their home in 2003 and then in 2012, an earthquake created a large crack in the foundation. Since 2012, water has entered that crack during the spring months and heavy rain. The homeowners knew that this problem would continue if they didn't find a solution. After hearing about Northern Basements on the radio and in the newspaper, they decided to book a FREE estimate.
Solution
Our team then proposed and installed a CleanSpace Wall System over the crack to seal the area from any water or vapors. They also installed a partial perimeter drain along that same wall to collect water that is attempting to enter through the crack or along the floor and wall joint. Lastly, this system is complete with a Triple Safe Sump Pump System. This pump system includes a primary pump, a secondary pump, an UltraSump battery back-up pump, and a WaterWatch Alarm. This will prevent the basement from getting wet during high water flow, power outages, tripped circuits, and pump failure.
