1980's Home With a Flooding Basement in Rutland, Vermont
Challenge
A Rutland, Vermont resident hired a local plumber to install a sump pump in her mother's 1980's home, but the pump couldn't keep up with the water and over time began to fail. This caused more flooding in the basement from water seeping through a crack between the wall and floor. After two to three years of fighting the water, they decided it was time to find a long-lasting solution, so they called the professionals at Northern Basement Systems to help!
Solution
We provided a FREE ESTIMATE from one of our trained system design specialists, and once we got the job proposal approved we got the family on the schedule!
First, our team of installation specialists placed 175 feet of WaterGuard Drainage System underneath the perimeter edge of the basement floor. This system collects all the water and because it sits on top of the footing, away from the "mud zone' there's minimal risk of the system clogging. Next, they installed TWO SuperSump Pump Systems to pump out the water before it enters the basement. These pumps are composed of a primary pump and an UltraSump Battery Back-up System that will kick on if there is a tripped circuit, power outage, or pump failure. These SuperSump Pumps also have a WaterWatch Alarm that sounds off to let you know if water has risen past the point where the pumps should have turned on. Last, they installed the discharge line with an IceGuard to protect against a frozen discharge line and a LawnScape outlet at the end of the discharge line.
With all of these systems in place, this family now has peace of mind that their home of 20 years is safe and dry! Do you have a family home with a wet basement or crawlspace? Call 855-DRY-TIME to schedule a FREE ESTIMATE with the experts at Northern Basement Systems!
