Hurricane Irene Damages in Waitsfield, Vermont
Challenge
Hurricane Irene ripped through Vermont, causing a large amount of damage to homes and properties. The storm was something Vermont hadn't seen in almost 100 years. One of the homes that suffered water damage was in Waitsfield. They always had a little water in their basement when it rained heavily, but with Irene it was a lot. They decided to contact Northern Basement Systems in search of a permanent waterproofing solution.
Solution
To fix the water problem Northern Basement Systems installed a CleanSpace Wall System, a WaterGuard System, a SaniDry Dehumidifier, and a TripleSafe Sump Pump. The CleanSpace Wall System creates an effective moisture and vapor barrier. The wall covering forces all wall seepage and moisture to flow into your perimeter drain system. The WaterGuard System captures wall and floor seepage before it reaches your basement floor. Water enters the system via inlet holes and flows through the drainage pipe to the TripleSafe. The TripleSafe has a unique "figure eight" design allows all three submersible pumps to fit perfectly in a single sump liner. With the TripleSafe system, you don't have to worry about high pumping demands that can overwhelm or burn out single-pump systems. And if there's a power outage, your TripleSafe system will keep operating, thanks to the UltraSump battery-powered backup pump. The SaniDry dehumidifier is a high-capacity, high-efficiency system, that can remove as much as 100 pints of water per day out of the basement air. The homeowner now are prepared for the next storm, be it big, or small.
