Gravel and Fieldstone Basement Transformation in Fairfax, Vermont
Challenge
This basement in Fairfax, Vermont had fieldstone walls and gravel floors, allowing water and humidity to enter. With the humidity and standing water in the space, it was unusable and unhealthy. The homeowner contacted Northern Basements to find a solution to prevent further deterioration in the stone foundation and seal the foundation to keep water and pests out.
Solution
We provided the homeowners with a FREE estimate and site inspection, then installed the system as proposed. First, our team installed a SuperSump Premier Sump Pump System complete with a discharge line, IceGuard, and LawnScape Outlet, to remove the water surrounding the foundation to keep the space dry. Next, the basement walls and floor were sealed with a CleanSpace Encapsulation System to prevent water and humidity from entering. With the encapsulation system, this space will remain dry and clean year-round. Lastly, closed-cell polyurethane spray foam was installed on the upper portion of the basement and in the rim joist area to improve the home's efficiency and reduce cold floors during Vermont's winter months.
With these basement systems installed the space is now usable, clean, warmer, and healthier! Call 855-DRY-TIME today to schedule your FREE estimate and see how Northern Basement Systems can transform your basement or crawl space!
