Making a basement dry in Alstead, New Hampshire
Challenge
Plagued with water in the basement, a church in Alstead, New Hampshire contacted Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems for help. The church had been getting water in their basement for quite a long time. The church it self is located at the bottom of a hill. The back of the church nestles up at the foot of the hill. All the water running off the hill makes the church a prime target for basement water issues. After an inspection from one of Matt's highly trained System Design Specialist, a plan was set to make the basement dry for good.
Solution
The size of the basement and the high amount of water the basement would face, especially during and after a good rain fall, contributed to needing three seperate sump pumps. The TripleSafe Sump Pump was the pump of choice to handle the large amount of water. The TripleSafe Sump Pump has three seperate pumps. The first pump is a heavy-duty 1/3 horsepower (HP) cast-iron Zoeller pump that does most of the pumping, handling up to 2,600 gallons of water per hour. The second pump is a 1/2 HP pump that operates automatically if Pump 1 fails or if greater pumping volume is needed (up to 6,200 gallons per hour). The third pumpis a battery-operated pump that turns on automatically if power fails. Matt's team of experts installed a WaterGuard System to collect any water and direct it to the pumps. The three TripleSafe Sump Pumps will then pump the water out a discharge line away from the basement. There also was always a lot of humidity in the basement. To take care of that Matt's team installed a SaniDry XP Basement Air System. The SaniDry XP is a powerful and effective dehumidifier. The SaniDry XP removes 10 times the amount of water from the air as a typical dehumidifier, while using the same energy to run. The church basement is now free of water and dry.
