DryTrak & SuperSump Plus in Stowe, Vermont
Challenge
A house located deep in the mountain of Stowe, Vermont was getting a good amount of water in their basement. It was making the basement a mess and ruining belongings that they thought were safe to store.
Sometimes water will come in your basement and if you have a lot of stuff everywhere you might not even be aware of it. This can lead to a messy situation. Unfortunately this is exactly what was happening to our customers in Stowe. By the time they noticed the water a good amount of their belongings were lost to water and mold damage. Looking to put an end to their basement misery they contacted the basement waterproofing experts at Matt Clark's Northern Basement Systems. They made an appointment for their FREE ESTIMATE and set forth with their dreams of a clean and dry basement.
Solution
After their FREE ESTIMATE, with one of Northern Basements System Design Specialists, the following plan was executed to make their basement permanently dry. Northern Basement Systems installed a DryTrak basement water control system. It is designed to capture water before it reaches your basement floor. The base of the DryTrak drainage channel is sealed to the basement slab floor with a special epoxy adhesive. The tilted top section of the DryTrak profile is designed to maintain a narrow opening along the channel’s top edge, so that wall seepage can flow down into the drainage channel. After installing the DryTrak the team installed a state of the art SuperSump Premier Pump System. The pump has a top-rated 1/3 HP Zoeller cast iron pump offers reliability and high-volume pumping, a built-in alarm alerts when water level rises too high. There is a strong, airtight sump cover lid which is child-safe and keeps out insects, odors and radon gas. Another plus to this pump is there's no need to sacrifice storage space - Items can be stored on top of sump lid. The CleanPump pump stand is a patented stand that elevates the sump pump intake port to help prevent clogging, which is a common cause of pump burnout. After the pump is installed the cleanpump pump stand goes out of the house to a discharge line away from the house. There is also an Ice Guard put in line with the discharge line. The IceGuard allows water to escape if the discharge line is frozen, prevents basement flooding in cold weather, and is completely maintenance free.
