The PowerBrace Foundation Wall Repair System in Underhill, Vermont
Challenge
A customer in Underhill, Vermont was in need of a solution for a wall in their basement. The wall was showing signs of bowing. It also was getting water coming down the wall, leading to water in their garage. They contacted Matt Clark's Northern Basement System in hope of a permanent solution.
Solution
Matt sent out one of his System Design Specialist to access the situation. After going through a serious of tests and evaluations the conclusion was to install a PowerBrace Foundation Wall Repair System to fix the wall. The PowerBrace is a patented foundation wall repair system that's designed to stabilize failing basement walls and provide the potential to straighten walls over time. These steel i-beams will stabilize the wall in its current position without any further adjustment. Over time, the PowerBrace System can be tightened to make bowing walls straighter. For the water situation they decided to put up CleanSpace paired with a WaterGuard System. The CleanSpace will perform as a vapor barrier and make and water flow into the newly installed WaterGuard. The WaterGuard will then direct the water out of the basement garage to a discharge line away from the home.
